There is power to building a thing that is intrinsically yours, that no one can take and nothing can touch no matter what happens. And there is power to being able to constructively hit things and yell as loud as you want - while actively developing your own stable strength through the changes, and claiming it.
Programs are designed to help participants connect with and work through feelings of trauma or grief in a physical outlet, while building upon a developing skillset of martial arts and self-defense techniques. To navigate the transition between holding on to and letting go of so much at once, while learning how to not just sit with these feelings, but build something meaningful.
